2013 Congressional Art Competition
Voting is now closed for this year's event.
The 2013 Congressional Art Competition, "An Artistic Discovery," aims to showcase the artistic talents of high school students in Ohio’s 1st Congressional District. The competition is open to students in grades 9-12 who are residents of the 1st District. All suitable artwork will be displayed for two weeks in May at the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal and all applicants will be invited to attend an awards reception on Monday, April 29th, where the winners will be announced.
First Place: Artwork will hang in the U.S. Capitol, along with pieces from students around the country, for one year.
Second Place: Artwork will hang in Congressman Chabot’s D.C. office for one year.
Top Hamilton County student: Artwork will hang in Congressman Chabot’s Cincinnati office for one year.
Top Warren County student: Artwork will hang in Congressman Chabot’s Warren County office for one year.

2013 IMPORTANT DATES
April 17th: Final day to submit artwork. All artwork must be submitted to the Cincinnati or Warren County District office by 5 p.m. (by appointment only). Please see in-take instructions.
April 19th to April 26th: The top 20 pieces of artwork, selected by a panel, will be posted on chabot.house.gov for constituents of the 1st Congressional to vote for their favorite piece.
***REVISED DATE*** May 13th: Awards Ceremony at the Cincinnati Museum Center from 6 - 7 p.m. Winning entries will be announced at 6 p.m. Open to all participants, teachers, families and interested parties. Light snacks and refreshments will be served.
April 30th to May 13th: Artwork will be displayed at the Cincinnati Museum Center.
May 14th: Artwork will be available to be picked from the District Office in which it was delivered.
June 1st: Last day to pick up artwork from Congressman Chabot’s district offices.
Mid-June (TBD):National Winners’ Reception in Washington D.C. for the First Place winning artist and one guest.
