Chairman Chabot Endorses President Elect Trump’s Phone Call with Taiwanese President Tsai Ying-wen

Washington – Chairman Steve Chabot (R-OH) released the following statement in response to Donald Trump’s call with the President of Taiwan:
“Since 1979, relations between the United States and Taiwan have suffered from a lack of communication due to the self-imposed restrictions that the United States maintains on high-level dialogue between United States and Taiwanese officials. That is why I introduced H.R. 6047 the Taiwan Travel Act this year.”
Representative Steve Chabot (R-OH) is the Chairman of the House Small Business Committee and is a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Judiciary Committee.
