At a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday, I asked Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson whether or not the Obama Administration had reached out to the family of Kathryn Steinle, the woman who was murdered in San Francisco earlier this month.
Secretary Johnson responded that he wasn't sure if any such effort had been made. You can read more about the story and watch video of the exchange here.
