Last week was a busy week in the First District. Here are a few highlights.
In addition to being National Small Business Week, last week was also Research Week 2015. To help kickoff Research Week, I joined representatives from the University of Cincinnati, Children's Hospital and the Cincinnati VA Medical Center at a celebration at Levine Park.
I was also pleased to meet with recent West Point appointee Jordan Asberry, a Colerain High School senior.
On Wednesday morning, I spoke to the East Price Hill Business Alliance Group.
On Thursday, I met with Donna Deaton, a volunteer with the American Cancer Society's Cancer Action Network, to discuss NIH funding to combat cancer.
And I discussed the importance of fighting deadly diseases around the world with representatives from Partners in Health Cincinnati Engage.
On Monday, I toured Dwyer Insurance, and discussed several of the issues facing their business.
