Chabot Announces Upcoming Report on Cybersecurity Threats to State Department

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Chabot (R-OH) made the following statement regarding a GAO report expected to be released next week.

“Next week, the GAO will release a report about suppliers to State Department’s critical telecommunications infrastructure that will raise serious concerns about the security of foreign-purchased equipment. In light of the report, I will be making substantial recommendations to the State Department to strengthen its cybersecurity to help protect our national security.”

Congressman Chabot is the Chairman of the House Small Business Committee and a senior Member on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
