Chabot Applauds House Passage of Tax Reform Legislation

For Immediate Release

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Steve Chabot (R-Westwood) today applauded House passage of the conference report to H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Following the vote on H.R. 1, Chabot issued the following statement:

“Today, the Republicans in the House followed through on our promise to the American people to pass real reform that simplifies the tax code, reduces taxes for the vast majority of Americans, boosts the economy and could create as many as a million new jobs. This important legislation isn’t simply a tax cut. It’s a fundamental transformation of the tax code that will make it easier for the American people to calculate and file their taxes; will reduce taxes on the typical Cincinnati family of four by as much as $2,000 a year; and make American businesses – small, medium, and large – more competitive in the world marketplace. And so this holiday season, American families have an extra reason to celebrate, because in the coming year, they will have more money to make ends meet, pay off bills, take a vacation, or save for the future.”
